CisternYard.com is the flagship product of the Cougar Media Network, the student media office of the College of Charleston. Combining the best content from the George Street Observer, CofCRadio, and CTV in one multimedia-friendly place gives you the best access to campus news and entertainment.

Cougar Media Network is comprised of four student media organizations and two supporting departments. Each group offers unique ways for students to become involved, meet people from diverse backgrounds and gain practical training in various media.

The George Street Observer
The George Street Observer is the official campus weekly newspaper, publishing news, sports, and entertainment content regularly online at CisternYard.com. The GSO also produces a feature magazine, printed every two weeks.

Miscellany
Miscellany is the College’s student-produced literary and art journal. Students are invited to submit original artwork, poetry, photography and prose for to be considered for inclusion in the publication. A student committee consisting of individuals selected by the editor-in-chief will meet during the beginning of each spring semester to select works for publication in Miscellany. The finished product is distributed to the campus community in April.

Cougar Television
CTV is the College’s official, on-campus television station and can be seen online at CisternYard.com. CTV is divided into two separate operations: CTV News and CTV Entertainment. CTV News is charged with covering news, sports and a variety of activities across the College of Charleston community. The weekly show is presented in a magazine-style format, allowing more in-depth coverage. CTV Entertainment is charged with producing original programs including, talk shows, comedies, game shows and animated features.

CofCRadio
CofCRadio is the College of Charleston’s internet radio station and the City of Charleston’s first college radio station. This station is also the area’s only music service dedicated to showcasing independent, new artists with an emphasis on local talent. CofCRadio also provides opportunities for weekly shows ranging from news and sports to entertainment. Listen to the 24/7 broadcast, and on-demand interviews, online at CisternYard.com.

Advertising
The advertising department is responsible for the advertising sales efforts of the network and work most specifically with the George Street Observer and cisternyard.com, the flagship website of the Cougar Media Network.

Public Relations
The public relations department is responsible for the supervision of the public relations and marketing efforts of the Cougar Media Network. This office also coordinates all network-wide events, as well as assisting with events for each organization.
