After sweeping their first CAA series last weekend, the College of Charleston dropped a 2-0 decision to a quality Campbell team on Wednesday night at Patriots Point.

Just last week, the Cougars traveled to Campbell and ended the Camel’s second longest winning streak in the nation, who had been receiving national votes in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll.

Through the first three full innings, neither team threatened to score any runs due to great pitching from Charleston’s Brandon Glazer, who pitched 2.2 innings of no-hit ball in a predetermined split, with Wade Arduini reliving Glazer in the third.

Campbell got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth when they scored a run after a single with two outs and runners on first and second.

Charleston led off the bottom of the fourth with a double by Carl Wise, but the Cougars could not drive him in.

After Campbell loaded the bases in the eighth and the rain began to make the ball slippery, they picked up their second run on a throwing error by the Cougars,

Blake Butler extended his hitting streak to 17 games in the loss for the Cougars, which ties him for seventh longest all-time with former Charleston great and current MLB player, Brett Gardner.

Charleston will travel to James Madison for their first road CAA series of the season.
