After pushing their series opening victory streak to three straight on Friday, the College of Charleston dropped the Saturday afternoon matchup to Indiana University, 15-1, at Patriots Point.

Eric Bauer took the mound for Charleston, scattering seven hits over seven innings, but gave up four earned runs to the Hoosiers.

Bauer failed to get any run support from his offense, as the Cougars were just 1-8 with runners in scoring position.

Indiana got two runs in the bottom of the fourth thanks to two doubles and added another two runs in the bottom of the fifth after a leadoff triple.

The Cougars got a run in the fifth inning when Champ Rowland hit Tommy Richter, who had double to lead off the inning, in from third base.

Indiana added their fifth run on a liner that tipped off Charleston’s Nick Pappas’ glove at first base.

The Hoosiers got five runs in the eighth inning on Hayden McCutcheon, who had been the Cougars’ most reliable pitcher out of the bullpen.

Charleston and Indiana will play the rubber match of the series at noon tomorrow.
