The ‘road worriers’, that is the women’s College of Charleston basketball team, found their way through a run of road wins; even picking up a home win along the way. Unfortunately, their streak of wins was trampled during a road game against Western Carolina.
Just before their game against the Catamounts the Cougars headed off to the Peach State to pick up a win against Georgia Southern.
The Cougars won the game 47-44, and held the Eagles to a 35.3 percent shooting average.
Leading the team was Megan Fischer with 13 points.
Following that the Cougars headed back up to North Carolina for their Western Carolina match up. The Catamounts beat the Cougars, 59-45.
The Catamounts were leading by 17 points taking away the Cougar’s five point lead they established early in the game. The Cougars, however, were able to bring the game down to six points before the end.
Collectively the team was able to force 18 turnovers from Western Carolina and managed to pick up 11 steals from the Catamounts. Leading the Cougars in points was Latisha Harris with 15.
The Cougars play again today in a home game against Davidson at 2p.m. in the TD Arena.
