The truth is you cannot get much closer than a one point game. The women’s basketball team were unfortunately on the wrong side of that one point as they fell to Georgia Southern on Wednesday evening in the TD Arena. The final score of the game was 35-34.
The game stood at 35-32 for the last five minutes of the game until Latisha Harris hit a lay-up to bring the Cougars their final points of the game and put the score at 35-34.
Cathryn Hardy had a great game as she came up with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars.
Harris also contributed nine rebounds and seven points and overcame a minor gash on her forehead during the second half; she returned to the game to help the Cougars in their final dash to the end.
The Cougars totaled 34 rebounds. They also kept GSU’s offence on high alert totaling 20 steals which is the third most steals in team history. Six of these steals were a product of point-guard Jillian Brown.
The Cougars play again on Saturday Jan 21st at Wofford at 2p.m.
